長尾理論的重點在於 利基市場，而非傳統強調的熱門市場或主流市場，硬套在 教育的個別化，有些勉強，但用以強調學校提供的在地適當、即時服務。
學校的設計 有限的空間、有限時間、有限的教師(人力)服務有限的客戶(學生)，「是指那些原來不受到重視的銷量小，種類多的產品或服務由於總量巨大，累積起來的總收益超過主流產品的現象。」的意象在學校現場很難對應。學校可以無限大概是對學生未來的發展的想像吧？
數位學習，透過網路，學校可以發展屬於自己利基市場的學習內容和方案。或許是一條可能的途徑。
